Projects and Events

Read more about various events that Leadership makes happen throughout the year! Not every event happens every year, and each year we brainstorm new ones!
Spirit Week is Leadership's biggest undertaking, so it gets its own page! Learn more here:
The events are roughly sorted in the order that they occur, beginning in August.

Freshmen Orientation

For incoming students: tours of WAHS and a chance to get to know your classmates!

Spirit Week

One of leadership's biggest projects. Lasts over a week, full of fun whole-school activities that build up to homecoming.

Winter Wonderland Week

A smaller version of Spirit Week, with dress up days, activities, and hot chocolate at lunch.

Gingerbread House Decorating

Team up and decorate a milk-carton gingerbread house!

3v3 Basketball Tournament

Students sign up with a team to compete against other students! Games take place during Warrior Period.

Spring Spirit Week

One last Spirit Week before spring break! Like the other Spirit Weeks, but this one takes advantage of the warming weather. Dress up days, outdoor activities, and more!

EC and CO Elections

10th, and 11th graders are elected for the following school year in late spring. EC elections happen first, and CO elections follow.

TOPS

A program run by students for students. Lessons in warrior period to familiarize underclassmen with the school. TOPS starts early, and continues beyond the fall.

Homecoming

At the end of Spirit week. There is a homecoming football game, court, and dance.

Angel Tree

Warrior Periods each sponsor a child and raise money for gifts for that child. This is a great way for our school to give back!

Singing valentines

Get in groups, make costumes, choose a song, and come up with a dance! Buy a singing valentine for your friends, and the group performs in front of the class!

WAHS Got Talent

This is our talent show that we put together to show off student talent. It usually takes place after school.

Mental Health Week

A week dedicated to improving students' mental health. Lunch activities, therapy dogs, chalk & bubbles, and more.

Prom

Prom is held for Juniors and Seniors at an off-campus venue in the spring. Prom is more formal that Homecoming, our other dance.

Club Fair

New and existing clubs have a chance to advertise their club and recruit new members. Sign up for any clubs you're interested in!

Tree of Thanks

Students write what they're thankful for on a leaf, and we'll combine them into one big tree for display!

Cookies, Cocoa, and Cramming

Last minute studying before exams. Oftentimes, teachers will come too, to answer questions and assist with review.

Candygrams

Buy small treats for your friends! These are things like candy, beads, roses, and heart-shaped glasses, and are delivered into classes.

Volleyball Tournament

Run by the Varsity Girls Volleyball Team, Leadership hosts a Volleball tournament that includes teams of 6. A bracket is put together such that the best two teams play for the championship at the end.

Battle of the Bands

Leadership hosts a "spring concert" outside during lunch that includes student bands! We usually have 3-5 bands that perform.

Senior Field Day

Seniors have one final celebration on the turf! A chance to celebrate and have fun with their class one last time, usually after seniors' last day of school and around the time of graduation practice.
